It has been several seasons since Hedi Slimanes introduction of the drop crotch pants into the house of Dior. It wasn’t long until they hit the mainstream and they are officially in this season. I personally like these drop crotch shorts by Philip Lim. I think I might play around with some tailoring of my own.
Here we have model Kate Moss interpreting the iconic image of David Bowie from his 1973 album "Aladdin Sane". I really want this Kate Moss shirt taken from the 2003 May UK Vogue magazine cover photographed by Nick Knight.
As part of a project for my design class we were to design a chair made out of corrugated cardboard and other cardboard based materials. The chair had to meet certain height and size requirements and at the same time incorporate design, function and aesthetics in one form. As I began the brainstorming for my project I couldn’t help but wonder how I could make the chair serve more than one function. I went with the mentality of, “Would I want this chair or object be part of my room?” The design I followed through for my cardboard chair had a very minimal and contemporary feel. Not only does it sit one person but it sits two while the slots on the bottom create storage room for magazines or books made convenient if you want to sit and read. The paper mache finish over the cardboard was all recycled paper, making the chair very environmentally friendly.
